From a deep murky green, Hyderabad Secret Lake now is a sparkling blue. A two-year-long mission, taken up jointly by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, K Raheja Corp and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, is now showing results. A major portion of the water hyacinth that smothered Durgam Cheruvu under it, killing its underwater life and emitting a nauseating stench, has been removed.
